Activities - Parish & Family Life
The purpose of the Parish and Family Life committee is to provide for the internal spiritual growth of a parish and its many families. It is to promote Christian community, personal development, and in a practical way enrich family living with the parish community. The Committee’s concern includes all age groups and their varied needs.
The functions of this committee include:
-
Assess the needs of families, youth, young adults, adults and senior citizens, and in collaboration with other committees, recommend programs.
-
Implement programs decided upon by parish Pastoral Council.
-
Work in coordination with the various diocesan offices, Youth ministry, Family Life Services, etc. to develop or to improve existing programs in the parish.
-
Provide for periodic updating of the parish census.
-
Develop and coordinate a good parish social life program.
The Parish and Family Life committee is now being formed, and parishioners are encouraged to join this rewarding ministry. Contact Annemarie Wooten for details.
Parish Dinners
This committee is made up of volunteers who plan, organize, and implement fund
raising events to benefit our parish. The events take place throughout the year.
Contact Annemarie Wooten for more information.
Welcoming Committee
The primary goal of the Welcoming Committee is to make
immediate contact with new parishioners to welcome them to our Faith Community,
to register them in the parish, and to help them become familiar with the many
activities and ministries within our Parish as well as the local community. The
committee is open to all parishioners. Meeting dates are published in the
monthly parish calendar and posted online on the Calendar
Page. Welcoming committee members are responsible for calling
and visiting new parishioners to register them in the parish, to present them
with an information folder and a house warming basket from the parish. It is the
Committee’s hope to provide Welcoming Socials in the future so new parishioners
can meet other parishioners. Contact the Parish Office at 410-208-2956 for more
information.
