Bereavement Committee
When there is a death in your family, the members of this committee are prepared
to assist you in several ways. A committee member calls on the family and helps
them plan a Mass of Christian Burial, Memorial Service and/or a Wake Service.
They present options concerning readings, music, and family participation in the
Mass or Service. Members
participate in formation sessions to prepare them for this special ministry.
Committee members are also present at the Mass of Christian Burial to
assist the family in whatever needs may arise as well as following up with
families after the funeral. Please contact Connie Rutherford if you are
interested in being a part of this ministry.
Caregivers Support Group
This group of parishioners and local community meet the 1st Thursday of each
month at
Supporting Hands
The Supporting Hands Ministry (formerly Ministry to the Homebound), will visit homebound parishioners, shop, provide a home-cooked meal, run errands, and/or give caregivers a couple hours respite. Perhaps you are recovering from surgery or an illness and would enjoy a friendly visit or have need of this type of assistance. Volunteers will drive parishioners to any parish activity-primarily weekend Masses. If you would like to volunteer for one or more aspects of this ministry, you will be most appreciated. Call Jeanne at 410-208-3250. This group meets the 4th Wednesday of each month.
Widowed Person's Support Group
A support group for widowed persons is being planned to begin this fall. The first meeting is Monday, October 8, at 7 pm in the library. Subsequent meetings will probably be held in the home of the coordinators. The meetings will consist of prayer, meditation for working through grief, discussion, sharing our walk with others, and in whatever the group is interested. If interested, please call Jim or Ione Salzman at 410-352-9858.
